Hazbin Hotel's Creator Is Aware of Your Season 2 Predictions — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video this week, and fan speculation has been widespread.

Season 1 introduces a large cast of characters living within the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain threads recur frequently: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner stated recently. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating unfolds this season.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a few fans create a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on October 29.
